23/06/2008

The Eagles continued their good season against Compton on a lovely warm summer evening at home.
Luke and Brandon opened the bowling for Finch and set a good standard which the rest of the team followed, particularly Brandon who took 2 wickets in his first over. The Eagles were in fine form when it came to fielding and as a result at the end of the 3rd over they had kept Compton down to a score of 199. This continued through the middle of the bowling order with Compton being restricted to very few runs and Lewis picking up another wicket.

The final 5 overs saw the Eagles strengthen there position with them taking 3 wickets for only 8 runs. James taking 2 in two balls and Brandon adding another. Compton finished on 218-6.

Luke and Tommy opened the batting for the Eagles and made a fantastic start, with Tommy hitting 2 boundaries off the first 2 balls. This meant at the end of their 3 overs they had already managed to put on 24 runs. All the boys continued to bat well with everybody scoring. Matthew scored a very impressive 17 runs, and Dan and Will between them put on 21 runs through some very good running and calling.

At the end Finch finished on a very impressive 289-2.

Well done to all the team.
