U9 Falcons Win at Crown Wood

05/06/2008

After losing narrowly, last time out, the Falcons were determined to get back to winning ways. Sam L-D, Kieran and Callum bowled the first 3 overs and a combination of straight bowling, 2 wickets and excellent fielding, meant Crown Wood hadn’t managed to add any runs to their starting total.

The Falcons continued to produce their best display in the field, with the highlight of the game, if not the season, an outstanding diving, one handed catch from Jamie Brown.

Apart from a little blip in the middle of the bowling order, The Falcons bowled very well and with all the players on their toes in the field, restricted the opponents to just 15 runs of the bat.
Crown Wood finished their innings on 202-8.

Lucas and Ben W opened the batting and got the Falcons of to a great start. Their calling and running between wickets was excellent, looking to score every time the ball was hit.
Again, the rest of the team looked to follow the lead of our openers, with all 10 boys scoring runs with special mention to Lucas, Jack, Callum and especially Sam Dunks who scored 15 from his 3 overs.
The fact that we only lost 3 wickets helped our total and we finished with 280-3, our best total so far this season.

Well done to all the boys for a good team performance!!!
