What a display

Finchampstead Under 15 travelled to Falkland Cricket Club to play in the Semi Final of the County Cup.

Having won the competion in previously years, the team as normal where under no pressure.

Captain Billy Beswick back after an injury loss the toss and Cookham Dean decided to put Finch in to bat.

A new opening partnership Biilly Beswick and Miles Anderson  started the Finch innings with some fine batting, almost a master class. Both openers where retired on 51 and 50  and it wasn`t untill the 15 over that Finchampstead lost its first wicket the score was 143.

Ollie Armstron Wood and Josh Lincoln pushed the score on with some big "6`s" and  just punished the bowling attack of Cookham Dean and after 20 overs Finch had scored 208 for 2. Our highest ever total in 20 over cricket. The size of the ground did assist our batters.

Finch with a spring in their step set about bowling Cookham Dean out  and after 3 overs Cookham look like they could well achieve the target set. However  Thomas Bale had other plans in his third over, was on a hatrick ball which just missed the stumps by an inch. It would have been his 5th wicket of the game.  He finished 4.0.15.4

The team felt that the game was for the taking and with some excellent bowling also by Craig Hodges, Max Stevenson and Oliver Crookall to finish it off, Finch bowled Cookham Dean out for 93 runs.

A good performace for the U15`s and showed promise for the Final.  All who played made a valuable contribution and we played like a team with a mission.
