03-05-2009 - Away - ECB National KO - Reading vs Finch

First Round Failure

Another year and another early exit from the National Knockout. Minus Lane and Bloyce, Gary Loveday captained the National Side at Reading. Batting first, things started off in reasonable shape with young Austrlian Englishman Aaron Todd setting the early pace. However with the addition of Hartley and Bevan, Reading slowed up the scoring and wickets started to tumble. Resistance only offered in flitting occurances, Finchampstead limped to 108 all out in approximately 35 overs. Housego and Howe opened up for Reading and got them off to a reasonable start without the need to carsh the ball to all parts! Both openers fell along the way to Jamie Cowie, but the Reading 3 and 4, ticked over and the game was won! Individual scores below are approximate and will be updated.
