11-07-2009 - Away - TVL - Windsor vs Finch

Dewes fall on Winsdor

Inserted by Windsor on a slightly green surface the Finch side found scoring difficult with the tight bowling of the Australian Martin. Runs were easier at the other end as the side scrambled rather than flowed to 182 alll out in the 52nd. Major contributions came from the Marles's, Dan (34) and Dave (26), JJ Dewes (24) and Tom Potter (22).

With the old ball the Finches were in the game with two quick wickets, a run out and the important wicket of Lickley (nephew) who fell well caught Dewes A bowled Dewes JJ! That was the start of the brothers infuence on the game as wickets steadily fell, despite spirited resistence from the Windsor Captain Oberai and the aforementioned Australian. With these two removed LBW Dewes A and Caught Potter T bowled Bale T the flood gates were opened. With no need for the new ball for the second week in a row the Dewes brothers cleaned up the remaining Windsor batters with a rivalry rarely witnessed over the dismissal of Dadd. Between them they took 8 - 37; JJ with 5-37 and Adam a remarkable senior debut of 3 - 10.

Points secured the Finches retired to the balcony to brighten the end of the Windsor Vs OMT encounter with cries of "shot buddy" and drinks provided by a proud Dewes Snr!
