Bad Hair Day for Datchet!

Tom Potter unbelievably bettered his last weeks performance as he spun the Datchet top order out  in a resounding Finch win.

Having posted a competitive 233 for 6 on the immense Arborfield green - Potter Senior with 47, Dan Marles 32 and debutant Peter Bulteel a quick fire 36 the captain called the side in after 50 overs. Extras top scoring with 56 as a ragged Datchet XI toiled in the heat with the icing on the cake applied by Jack Maclean's 20 not out at better than a run a ball.

The Old ball was retained by Potter senior with McDowell and Potter junior given the honours. Tom Potter (sporting newly straightened hair) was soon the talk of the Datchet dressing room as his 12 overs returned 7 maidens and a remarkable 4 for 6, as he and Mcdowell had the game in the bag and the opposition reduced to 38 for 4 after 19. Temporary resistence from the Datchet side was finished by MaClean and Bulteel - the latter returning his own 4 fer in a 4 over spell that finished the match off as the opposition were sent packing for 107 in the 39th.

25 points collected the Finches, their Dads, Uncles, and supporters, returned for celebratory coke at the Memorial Ground.
