At Cove in division 2A of the Thames Valley league Finches started their campaign by batting first.  They closed on 49 overs at 225-4, the batting led by skipper Gary Loveday 72 not out, Tom Ansell 51 not out and Mark McInnes 41.

Australian Mark McInees turned back the years to produce a MOM display with 4 wickets and 41 runs. Finch were also assisted by skipper Loveday and a cracking 35-ball 51 not out from Tom Ansell. This allowed and early declaration gifting the team another few overs to bowl out the oppo should they need it.

After the interval the spinners immediately took control as Cove were dismissed for 159 for an emphatic win.  They were indebted to Matt Harper 6-57 and Mark McInnes 4-87 who took all the wickets.
