28-06-2010 - Home - Bracknell & Dist Eve Cricket League - Finch vs Fujitsu
Under a clear cobalt sky in a cup semi final Finch choose to bat after winning the toss twice, it’s a long story with the opposition captain arriving late and wanting to personally toss the coin. Skipper Phil diplomatically kept the peace on this one. After an early loss of the openers, Phil 58 and AP 72 provided an impressive partnership with Scotty, Dylan and Nathan chipping in for Finch to reach an impressive 199 for 7.
With cakes provided for the break by Mrs Clarke, a tea prepared but unused after Reading had failed to field a team on Sunday. Anyway very nice cakes they were.
With Finch fired up with trans-fats, Fujitsu were subjected to a bowling attack of accuracy, pace and guile restricting the Fujitsu to just 43 all out in 9.4 overs. Jonny Aston 3 wickets, Justin 2, Nathan 2, Kanki 1 and Nick Davey snapped up the last 2 wickets in less than 4 balls.
Cup holders Finch make the final in successive years.
