02-06-2010 - Away - Bracknell & Dist Eve Cricket League - Bracknell vs Finch

Finch into semi final

Finch opening pair Adam Davey 28 and Dan Foster provided a good start. Nick Fairclough helped the score along. Marcus Bazley was cruelly stranded backing up. Scotty Osler 31 provided some power hitting briefly joined by Johnny Gaffney and then skipper Phil West a super 39no hitting 3 big sixes to boot, a skipper's knock.. Dylan Augustus and Justin Clarke moved Finch on to 164 for 7, off the 16 8 ball overs, a good par score.

With Finch a player short, Nick West with his Dad's permission was drafted in by the skipper to occupy fine leg. Bracknell started well with Henly 38 and then Chunder joining to add 29 with Dylan and Phil picking up some wickets. Bracknell were ahead of the run chase although Jonny had 4 overs with few runs scored but unfortunately was wicketless.  Then Marcus had an amazing over w dot w w one w dot one - 4 for 2 in one over. The skipper then kept things tight bringing back Justin and Dylan for an over each to ensure Bracknell finished 19 runs short 145 for 8. A good stumping by Scotty with catches held in the field but some of the ground work and accuracy of returning the ball to the keeper needs some work except that Nick West at fine leg was most effective especially as he is an u11.  Finch move on to the semi final.
