 It was much appreciated by your humble correspondent that Binfield had kindly agreed to re-schedule this league game to Friday. On the warmest evening of the season so far, Binfield won the toss and elected to field. Adam Davey and Matt Bell provided a very good opening stand of 71 off the first 5 overs. The Jones boys provided another excellent partnership, joined by Simon Bell and then Dylan Augustus before Scotty Osler and Justin Clarke moved the score on to a healthy 168 for 6. Scotty was unlucky not to clear the ropes before Justin scored the only 6 surprisingly in the Finch innings. 2 wickets fell to some good stumping work by the Binfield keeper.

Binfield openers were restricted by some excellent bowling by Dylan and Fozzie (who turned up to watch and with Finch down to fielding 10 was soon roped in). Matt Bell come on when Fozzie had to leave for work and Gareth Fry, who also popped down to watch the game, put on his whites to sub Fozzie. Matt then snapped up a 5 for 33 off 4 over’s. By over 10 Binfield were in the mire on 73 for 7. Dylan came back on and collected his third wicket whilst some very accurate bowling by Nick Davey and Justin Clarke rightfully rewarded them a wicket each. Some great catching by the Jones brothers as well as Liam Matthews, Simon and Scotty with everyone committed in the field it was a most secure victory against the club that won against Finch last year. Nice to see old friends, the Carson family and Sean Ennis enjoying their cricket. It was also good to see a fair collection of Finch supporters once again.
