23-07-2008 - Away - ECB U13 Regional Finals - North Middlesex vs Finch

U13s At ECB Regional Finals

The U13s, having beaten Slough and Falkland in the BCYL Cup went forward to play in the regional finals of the ECB U13 Competition. We always knew the standard would be high and we were drawn against the strongest side on the day, North Middlesex CC. NMCC consisted of a large amount of Middlesex U13 full squad and Academy players so it was going to be a tough match. Finch won the toss and elected to bat first. Dan and Darius found scoring difficult at first facing Middlesex's U13 opening bowlers but continued to score at a reasonable rate until Darius was out LBW. Dan Marles upped the rate with a quick 21 and Dan Lincoln was out on 28. Josh and Tom Mitchell followed in quick order and then Billy Beswick played a very good 30 retired. Sam added 16 not out to give Finchaes a total of 117-6. NMCC replied hitting boundaries and singles at will with three of their top order retiring on 30 each. They reached our target in 14 overs and it was an experience for our side. Star of the bowling was Max Snaddon playing up two years and getting figures of 4-0-14-1 against U13 Middlesex opening batsmen. NMCC went on to be eventual winners on the day.
