Eagles Miss Out on Final Slot

Finch Eagles lost out to Maidenhead & Bray in the BCYL league semi final. M&B fielded a strong side with the Eagles missing a few regular players and had to rely on some younger players which in the end was the difference between the sides. The Eagles lost the toss and were put in the field. All the bowlers chipped in with wickets and kept the visitors under three figures with a final total of 94-8. If the fielding had been tighter the total could easily have been 20 runs less! M&B responded with some very good bowling that was good in both line and length and the Finch batters found it hard to up the run rate. Consequently the pressure resulted in two run outs and despite a good fight back from Dan Skinner the Eagles were left 14 runs short. It ended a tremendous run with this being the only loss for the Eagles this season.
