20-05-2010 - Home - BYCL - Finch vs Sulhampstead

Oh What a Night

The night warm up began as so often before a match, but a disaster and accident caused the U15 Finchampstead Wkt keeper being injured and taken to hospital with a nasty knee accident. At the time of writing this he has had an operation and will be out for the season. We all wish him well.

Finchampstead won the toss and elected to bat, with Billy Beswisk and Richard Reed putting on 67 runs before the loss of the first wicket. Scott Rixon in only his 2nd inning played on and after that and  the loss of the 2 more  wickets Finchampstead seemed to lose their way and put to gether a total of 104 for 7.

A wicket in Liam Coldwell and Luke Mills first over soon showed that the oppposition Sulhampstead could be restricted from scoring runs and the Finchampstead team showed fine bowling and fielding through out , even when Liam Coldwell had to leave the field due to a popping ball.

Sulhampstead tried in vain to score runs, but all of the bowlers bowled well with  Matt Freeman, Jesper Burns , and Tom Bale , Luke Mills and Liam Coldwell all taking  2 wickets to eventually bowl Sulhampstead out for 21 runs.
