Close call at Binfield

Tonight BCL team played third match of the season and came away with as narrow win in a game that came down to the last ball. Batting first a few of the less regular batsmen had a chance to show what they were made of but other than Sam scoring 18 and some late lusty blows by Caine it was left to the Max brothers to score majority of Finches runs. A total of 106 was competitive but 20 short of where we should have been and 50 short of a good total.

This we reinforced by some mediocre bowling and slack fielding which allowed Binfield to get on top. Saving grace was some good catches and although we gave away 25 in extras (12 wides...) last few overs were tight and wickets kept tumbling to the point that last pair needed 4 off final ball for a Binfield victory. Noah held his nerve, Toby caught the skied catch and we had made it home by 3 runs

Certainly a game to look at and improve upon all around but a win is a win so well done.
