Thatcham Town won a close Cockspur ECB first round cup match on Sunday. Batting first Finches were 109 before opener Chris Ward was out for 61 and with 63 from fellow opener Steve Bloyce and 33 Nick Woodroffe the 45 overs total was 233 for 7. Visitors Thatcham at one stage 50 for 3 recovered to 152 for the same wickets before Sam Taylor smartly ran out Steve Wyatt. They proceeded to 181 for 8 and then squeezed home at 234 for 8 with 2 balls remaining in a good finish.
