Bobby O won the toss and elected to field,

Finch opened the bowling with Mason and Martin, and they both bowled with control, keeping the Odiham batsmen searching for runs. Wickets fell at regular intervals, and at the end of their spells, they finished with excellent figures, Mason 9 overs 1for 12 and Martin 7 overs 2 for 19. With the Odiham batsmen struggling for runs all the other Finch bowlers joined in the fun. West bowled a tight spell 6 overs 1 for 9, Bazley bowled 2 spells and finished with good figures of 12 overs 1 for 22. Davey and Osler picked up the other wickets and Odiham finished on 141 from 52 overs. The final bowling figures are Davey 7 overs 3 for 58 and Osler (beginning to look like his old self) 11 overs 2 for 22. The fielding was sharp, as one would expect from a team with only four players over 20 and the catches were spread around the team Fischer 2, Martin 2, Osler 1 and Lay 1.

Finch batted carefully against some accurate bowling, but both openers were back in the hutch for 25. Davies and Davey (sounds like a firm of lawyers) took the score onto 79 when Davies was bowled for 34, his third innings in the 30’s. Lincoln joined Davey and they slowly took the game away from Odiham with Lincoln scoring the winning runs. Davey ended 53 not out, his second consecutive score of over 50 and Lincoln 22 not out.

This win should set the 4’s on their way.
